Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Hyundai Ionic, we're going to be taking a look at the Yakima HighRoad roof-top mounted bike rack. This is part number Y02114. The first thing you will notice about this is that it's a wheel-mounted bike rack, so that means that it's going to hold our bike by its front wheel. This is nice because we don't have to take that front wheel off, and it's also going to eliminate the need for any bike frame contact because it's just going to clamp around that wheel. To get that in place, we've got this torque knob here. Once it's tight, it's just going to click and stop tightening, and then you'll know that you have it tightened down all the way.We also have our wheel strap at the back to go around that rear wheel to secure that down. more

We already have the bike installed on our rack, so let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of our features.How the bike is held into place starting at the front here, it's going to grip your bike by the fork mounts. What's nice about this bike rack is that once this is in place, and it does come with the lock already at the top, everything is secure from the bike rack to the roof rack, as well as the bike to the bike rack because you can't remove the bike rack without this being open and unlocked, and you can't loosen it without that being loosened and unlocked as well with the latch here. We'll get to that a little bit later.Moving to the rear, we do have this rear wheel strap that does ratchet down into place, and this is adjustable the length of the bike rack to accommodate for bikes of different sizes. Now, you see that at the back here this does stick out pretty far past where our hatch is. However, since this particular model does open from the side here out, clearance is not going to be an issue for this bike rack.So, let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside. more

RockyMounts Roof Bike Racks Review - 2012 Toyota RAV4- Video

Speaker 1: Today in our 2012 Toyota Rav4, we're gonna be test fitting the RockyMounts SwitchHitter Rooftop Bike Rack, part number RKY1270. This is a pretty unique rooftop bike rack in that it grips your bike at two points, but you do have choice when it comes to the front mount here. Right now we have a 9mm skewer mount that you see here grips your bike by it's fork mounts, but this will also work with Thru-Axles as well, so that works with either 12 or 15mm . Thru-Axles. There's another adaptor for a 20 that is sold separately.On the rear here, we do have this strap that'll hold the rear tire in place, and this is adjustable the length of the bike rack, to accommodate for bikes of different sizes. For security, we do have an integrated cable-lock although the lock-core is gonna be sold separately, and you can find that on etrailer.com so you can make this keyed alike with other accessories, or another roof rack if you wanted to.With everything installed as it is, you can see this sticks out pretty far back over our actual rear hatch, but since the Toyota Rav4, it's rear door opens out instead of up, that's not gonna be an issue with this particular rack. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek, we're going to be test fitting the Rhino-Rack XTray Pro Cargo Basket and 2 Bike Carrier, part number RRRMCB03.This measures 58" long by 43" wide, so there's plenty of space on the interior of the basket to store a lot of gear, anything from your luggage to your sporting goods equipment to your camping gear, plus there are two thru axle mounts up at the front here to carry up to two bikes. This does have a carrying capacity of 165 pounds, but you always want to double check with your vehicle's manual to make sure your roof can take those weights. Kuat Mini Skinny Roof Cargo Basket and Bike Carrier Installation - 2018 Chrysler Pacifica- Video

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Chrysler Pacifica, we're going to be test fitting the Kuat Mini Skinny Roof Cargo Basket and Bike Carrier, part number MSR1B.The Kuat Mini Skinny is great for carrying up to one bike in your cargo basket and it still has enough free space to have some luggage up here as well. It's skinny enough that you could have additional accessories on the other side of it.The basket does have an aerodynamic shape and that coupled with the fact that it has a fairing already installed as well, that's going to cut down the wind noise and drag while you drive, meaning a quieter drive while you're on the road. The backside of the basket actually folds up and this is to assist with giving you a little bit of better clearance between the hatch and the trunks of your vehicle. But as you can see in this configuration, that there's not going to be an issue of clearance between our hatch and the cargo basket.Where the bike attaches to our roof basket here, you want to make sure it's able to fit through a 9 mm skewer and also this will work with both standard and disc brakes. Also, as you can see here, there's plenty of space in between the roof rack and the roof here to where our cargo basket isn't going to have any contact issues with there as well.This does come with locks to secure it to your roof and they're going to be at the top here, right over where our brackets make contact. The maximum crossbar spread for this is going to be 14-5/8 from center to center and 35-7/8 center to center. more

At the end of the skewer mount, you'll see that it has this lock, which once engaged is going to secure the bike to the bike rack. There's also going to be a lock at the top portion here, which I'll show off later, which will secure the bike rack to the roof rack.It's skinny enough that you're going to be able to fit multiple bike racks of this kind on your roof rack and with everything installed as it is, we're not going to have an issue of clearance between the rear hatch and the bike rack as you can see here.To remove the bike rack, we'll start at the rear wheel strap here. more

It grips your bike at two points. Once you have it tightened down with the skewer mount here, it is covered with this plastic cover here, which is lockable. Swagman Enforcer Roof Bike Rack Review- Video

Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the Swagman Enforcer Roof Bike Rack, part number S64704. The Swagman Enforcer carries one bike on the roof of your vehicle. It will grip it by either the fork mounts or the included 15 millimeter through axle. Also sold separately, you can use the 20 millimeter through axle fork, part number S64715, or the boost through axle fork adapter, part number S64719.While it's not necessarily unique to all bike racks, this does have a cut out here that will accommodate bikes with disk brakes as well. This does have a sliding rear wheel tray and this is to help accommodate for bikes of different sizes and will move along the length of the bike rack to do so. If you do have an issue where you need to move the wheel tray pass the clamp here, you will have to remove the clamp completely to do so, and you can do that simply by loosening the screws up at the back.This accommodates most wheel sizes ranging from 700 CC road bike wheels up to 26 to 29 inch mountain bike wheels. more
